Monitor troubles

My Toshiba Satellite laptop is turning on but there is nothing on my screen? What do I do?...

Problem with Toshiba Satellite laptop

Need to know if I've pressed key/or keys or on the screen as of a sudden my keyboard won't type out any letters or symbols but when I hit keys they all make the same 'blip' noice?? Did I somehow lock the keyboard - it happened when something popped up on the screen while working on email about using onscreen keyboard....
