Keeps shutting off automatically

When I turn it on to play a CD with my guitar,...it runs through the entire menu, pauses on: "TOCREA D" (exactly as that), then no matter what I do, it says: "SHUT" and immediately shuts itself off!! Every time and all within seconds. The battery shows as full. I don't have a power adaptor. I bought it brand new and have never abused it, hardly used it. It did work but suddenly began this behaviour and I've tried everything but it is useless at the moment. I've never lent it out. Please help! Thanks....
