Olympus DS-2300 error message "System Check"

When I turned on my Olympus DS-2300 voice recorder to use, I got an error message of "System Check." I see reference to "System Error" in the manual, described as a malfunction with repair needed. I need recorder immediately and Tech Support where I purchased is closed for the weekend....
