No AC power

There's no AC power to my system. It's on battery back-up, even though the power is on in my house. I checked the outlet that it's plugged into, and it is fine. I unplugged the power pack and tried it in another outlet. The system powered up for about 2-3 minutes, then went back to battery back-up. The display showed "No AC". I'm wondering if I need to call the security company or if it's possible that I just need a new 120volt power pack....
